Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning assists in triggering the cell regeneration process and allows cosmetic products to better penetrate the skin. This technique is excellent to remove excess fine hairs from the face which can accumulate dirt and oil. It is important to note that vellus hairs (peach fuzz) will not grow back thicker or darker, as some may believe.



BENEFITS OF DERMAPLANING


This technique is a physical exfoliation procedure. Using a sterile, one-time-use, surgical scalpel to gently "shave" the skin's surface - this removes the top-most layer of dead skin along with fine, vellus hair (also known as ‘peach fuzz’). The technique can be performed monthly, in less than thirty minutes, with no downtime post-treatment.

Dermaplaning is a treatment that uses a medical grade scalpel to gently exfoliate the outer layer of dead skin cells and remove fine facial hair commonly known as “peach fuzz”, technically called “vellus” hair. It can be used as an alternative to laser treatments and microdermabrasion or along with them for an enhanced result. This procedure will give your skin a more radiant appearance. Following the treatment, makeup application is smoother and other skincare products are able to penetrate deeper in turn making them more effective.

The ideal candidate for Dermaplaning has aging, dry, rough, or uneven skin tone. Dermaplaning can also help reduce the appearance of shallow acne scars, fine lines and superficial hyperpigmentation.

This treatment is extremely safe when performed by an properly trained skincare professional. There is no more risk to the skin than when you shave your legs.There is also no downtime associated with this procedure.

No. There are different types of hair that grow on the body; vellus hair and terminal hair. Vellus hair is found on most areas of the body except palms, soles, lips and genital areas, whereas terminal hairs are found on the scalp, underarms and pubic region. The soft and fine vellus hair grows back at the same rate and texture.

Hyperkeratosis is a build up of dead skin cells on the skin’s surface. By removing this initial layer, a chemical peel is able to penetrate deeper into the dermis resulting in a more effective treatment. The conjunction of dermaplaning and a chemical peel leaves the skin refreshed and rejuvenated. Together they promote new skin growth and target problems such as aging, sun spots and environmental damage.

Microneedling

Microneedling is a facial procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin. The purpose of the treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, and more toned skin. It can be used to treat scars, wrinkles, and large pores.

The short answer is no. The products we use are not irritating to the skin and should not cause breakout to surface. In fact, having a facial is recommended to speed the healing process and relieve the discomfort of current acne lesions.

We combine natural, old-world philosophies and a dose of modern day science to create products that will bring balance back to the skin while also building it up and providing nourishment. We believe that perfectly balanced skin is glowing, healthy skin

You will leave your service feeling hydrated and relaxed and your skin will look healthy and glowing. If your appointment is later in the day we typically prepare your skin for night and no cleansing is necessary before bed. If your service is completed early in the day protection products, like an SPF, will be applied and cleansing before bed will be recommended.

Yes. There are many factors involved in sensitive skin and sometimes a facial service can help determine through diagnosis what you can do at home to both offer relief for you current state as well as prevent your condition from worsening.

Once a month is the ideal amount, but facials can be spaced out 4-6 weeks depending on your skin type and concerns. Your esthetician will go over how often you should come back.
